LO4:

Evaluation

Overall I’m very pleased with the final product, I feel that it is consistent with the themes and energy I wanted to initially communicate with this piece of work I also feel that’s it has done quite well to challenge the pretentious preconception of their groups and society’s whilst remaining light heated and entertaining. However i do feel looking back that my camera work could have been better planned and prepared as some of the shots are particularly shaky this is offset by my need to capture the motion of the activities as they were evolving.

    Support Us

While many people know that the National Theatre is one of the world's leading theatre producers, not many know that it is also a registered charity. As such our enormously generous supporters help the National on its three stages and far beyond

The National Theatre offers extraordinary resources for lifelong learning about and through theatre.

Through imaginative and innovative in-school, on-site and online activities, NT Learning opens up the National's repertoire, artistry, skills, and the building itself, enabling participants of all ages to discover new skills and experience the excitement of theatre-making. Our programme of formal and informal learning aims to deepen the public's relationship with every aspect of the NT's work, from playwriting to production skills, while promoting theatre as a means of understanding each other and the world, a stimulus to imagination and a powerful context for learning.

NT Learning activities take place at the National Theatre, in our dedicated John Lyon Education Studio at the NT Studio, and in schools, with partner theatres and organisations across London and the UK.

National Theatre Learning offers families a range of opportunities to engage with NT productions and explore behind the scenes. During school holidays families can uncover the secrets of theatre in a variety of exciting and interactive ways.

    NT Connections
Connections is a national festival of new writing and young theatre making.

    Entry Pass
Entry Pass is a free membership scheme for anyone aged 16 – 25, with an allocation of £5 Entry Pass tickets at every performance at the National Theatre
    Theatreworks Partnerships
Theatreworks Partnerships opens up the National Theatre and its work through a variety of participatory activities. It works within the Southbank local community and with community groups that operate within neighboring boroughs. Each project is delivered by National Theatre in-house creative teams and specialist Theatreworks facilitators.
    Case Studies
    1) Theatreworks Partnerships worked with a group of 18 to 25 year old NEET’s from London and Quadrant Housing and ELBA on a project based on the National Theatre’s production of Moon on a Rainbow Shawl. Drawing on the themes from the production the group engaged in rehearsal room techniques to develop their self confidence and communication skills.
‘We’ve had people who have come along who are significantly shy who have a lot of confidence issues. Who over the 3 days have transformed into confident young adults who are able to assert themselves and communicate...which has been wonderful’, L&Q Key Worker
    2) A partnership with the Maudsley Hospital resulted in a number of older (70+) psychiatric out patients producing a devised response to War Horse. Working with the War Horse creative teams and Theatreworks facilitators over a series of weeks the project culminated in a live performance in front of an invited audience.
‘We’ve done a tremendous amount during the project and it’s been exhilarating’. Participant aged 79
    A Vital Role
Trusts and Foundations play a vital role in supporting the work of the National Theatre.
There are several areas of the Theatre's work which currently attract trust and foundation support, these include:
Our Learning Department, which reaches over 150,000 people across the UK every year. Through a wide range of activities, we work with a diverse range of people, from families with young babies, to primary school children, to secondary schools and FE colleges, to university students, right through to adult learners.
The Studio, which is the NT’s centre of research and development and is at the heart of our aim to create new work, build new talent, and encourage new and diverse audiences. The Studio supports over 800 artists every year, including writers, directors, choreographers and designers through bursaries, attachments and workshops.

The Archive, which houses photographs, programmes, posters, videos, sound recordings, press cuttings, prompt scripts, production drawings, costume, lighting, and sound information. The greater part of the collection covers the period from the inception of the company in 1963 to the present day but our collections also stretch back to the late 19th century to document the movement to found a national theatre.
Access enhancements to ensure the National Theatre is accessible and welcoming to all and everyone's visit is made as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Support for a range of productions on the NT stages from classic texts to new work.
National Theatre Live, which broadcasts live theatre to cinemas across the world and has created an unprecedented opportunity to reach a significant audience who will predominantly interact with the NT remotely.
Support for our backstage teams including costume tailor bursaries and technical apprenticeships.
Capital works across the theatre. This now includes support for our capital campaign, National Theatre Future, an ambitious redevelopment project that will enable us to meet and deliver our artistic and strategic aims of lifelong learning, nurturing the future of theatre, continuous innovation and unparalleled experiences for audiences.
The NT works with many companies on many different levels - from FTSE100 corporate and global consumer brands, to small, family-owned firms. We pride ourselves on our commitment to understanding and meeting the business objectives of our corporate partners. Our approach has a focus on creativity, innovation, flexibility, professionalism and a user-friendly approach. There are three main ways that the National Theatre could be working with your company: corporate membership, sponsorship and events.
      Corporate Memberships
There are a number of levels of NT corporate membership, each offering generous and flexible benefits. We are dedicated to helping each company make the most of their membership.
         Current Corporate Partners
We would like to thank all of our corporate partners for the many innovative, exciting and ground-breaking projects that we have created together. We look forward to continued success with you.
         Sponsors
The National Theatre has a strong record in building high profile corporate partnerships with a commitment to delivering clear business objectives for our partners, and a focus on ROI.
         Case study: Travelex £12 tickets
The National Theatre's partnership with Travelex means that almost half the seats for a range of new productions are £12.
         Events
The National Theatre provides the perfect venue for corporate entertaining, champagne receptions, formal meetings, family days or exclusive one-off events
'The Young Patrons have a vital role to play in the future of the National Theatre. By supporting the most exciting and adventurous work on our stages, they allow us to develop the next generation of NT artists. My name is Josh Sundquist.
I am a son, brother, cancer survivor, author, Paralympic ski racer, motivational speaker, YouTuber and occasional vegan.”
Josh Sundquist is a bestselling author, motivational speaker, and Paralympic ski racer. He has spoken across the world to groups ranging from Fortune 500 companies to inner city public schools to the White House
Josh's journey began at age nine, when he was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and given a fifty percent chance to live. He spent a year on chemotherapy treatments and his left leg was amputated. Doctors declared Josh cured of the disease at age thirteen and he took up ski racing three years later.
He trained for the next six years and in 2006 he was named to the US Paralympic Ski Team for the 2006 Paralympics in Turino, Italy. A multi-season athlete, Josh is the only person in history to ever have been named to both the US Paralympic Ski Team and the US Amputee Soccer Team.

Josh's memoir, Just Don't Fall, was a National Bestseller in hardcover and is now available in paperback and audiobook. It has been translated into German for a European edition and is also on shelves down under in an Australia/New Zealand edition, for which, as it turns out, no translation was required.
Best known for his viral hit "The Amputee Rap," Josh has built a YouTube channel with over ten million views and one-hundred-thousand subscribers. In 2010 he was a winner of both the YouTube NextUp and YouTube On The Rise contests.

Josh served a two-year tenure as the National Spokesperson for the Combined Federal Campaign, an effort that raises over $300 million dollars a year for charities. He has been featured on the back of Doritos bags nationwide for being the founder of LessThanFour.org, the world's largest social networking website for amputees. For the record, Josh would've preferred to name it GiveMeAHand.com, but that URL was already taken.
Josh has been featured on CNN, USA TODAY, and NPR, and in many other less-famous and important sounding media outlets.
